We now have a vacancy for a Controller to join the Accounting and Ship Payroll team. The team is responsible for technical accounting and ship payroll for our 57 vessels managed out of our offices in Copenhagen, Gdynia, and London.

As our Controller, you will become part of a dedicated team working closely together, learning from and supporting each other.

The Controller will execute tasks related to accounting, analysis, reconciliation, controlling and reporting. This position is based in Copenhagen and reports to the Head of Accounting and Ship Payroll.

 

Responsibilities

  • Reconciliations of accounts.
  • Calculation and booking of insurance accruals, cases, and claims.
  • Responsible for monthly accruals and reconciliation of the same.
  • Booking and reconciliation of vessel reports from other managers.
  • Be responsible for various tasks related to our monthly closing.
  • Reconciliation of technical monthly reports against our ERP system.
  • Close communication and follow-up on numbers with other departments.
  • Assist with numbers in financial follow-up and Power BI.
  • Be responsible for various task related to our financial audit and SOX control.
  • Process fund requests.
  • Booking of invoices related to monthly closing, including the allocation of costs across entities.

 

Requirements

Essential:

  • 3+ years of experience with accounting and controlling.
  • Relevant education in Finance.
  • Experienced user of ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge (Pivot, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Great stakeholder management skills.
  • A structured and detail-oriented mindset.

 

Desirable:

  • Shipping experience
  • Knowledge of one or more of the systems that we use (Sun, Sertica, Acubiz)

You will become part of an international team spread across our offices in Copenhagen, Manila, and London.  We will therefore expect you to also be a great team player and be used to communicating in English.
