Head of Ship Accounting

Job Overview:

Are you enthusiastic about setting the direction for ship accounting in an international marine environment? Are you an experienced and performance-oriented leader with proven business insight? 

Navigator Gas is on a continuous development journey and now operate 56 highly specialized gas carriers, with plans for further growth. To help us continue executing our overall strategy, we are in search of a candidate to head our ship accounting function.

You will play a key role in ensuring payment systems run efficiently, producing accurate data to enable better decision-making, support, and budgeting. We use Sertica for our ship management accounting.

You will work directly with a team of dedicated employees located in Copenhagen and Manila, as well as support from corporate finance teams in London. 

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Primary owner of ship management and individual vessel accounts, including all bookkeeping, budgets and control functions.
  • Manage and develop your team in Copenhagen and Manila, increasing the collaboration with the rest of the organisation.
  • Management of ship accounting processes and controls in compliance with SOX and external audits.
  • Play a critical role in supporting senior management decisions for Navigator Gas through active collaboration and meaningful reporting.

 

Your profile:

  • Relevant accounting education.
  • Strong accounting and controlling toolbox.
  • At least 5 years’ experience at people management level.
  • SOX or audit experience.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft tools.
  • Expertise within Danish accounting, VAT, and tax rules.
  • Curious, project and development oriented looking for opportunities to further develop processes and challenge the status quo.
  • Strong people leader, people oriented.
